The opening feels bright and slightly dry, with the pear leading and the other two notes supporting it without competing.
The heart introduces osmanthus, which brings a soft apricot-like fruitiness that bridges the top and base. Jasmine sambac adds a dense, slightly indolic white floral character. Rose sits in the background, lending a gentle petal texture that smooths the brighter flowers. Together they create a floral layer that is fruity and warm rather than fresh or dewy.
The base is the most substantial part of Dara. Akigalawood provides a dry, peppery wood tone that anchors the sweeter elements. Sandalwood adds a creamy smoothness, while ambergris contributes a subtle saline warmth. Labdanum brings a resinous, balsamic depth, and vanilla ties the base together with a soft, rounded sweetness. The woods and resins gradually take over as the florals recede, leaving a warm, amber-heavy finish that feels dense and slightly spicy.
The overall impression is fruity and amber-forward, with the nutty and woody accords keeping the sweetness grounded.
