Saffron and mandarin orange open the scent with a bright, peppery lift. Wormwood adds a bitter edge that keeps the citrus from feeling sunny. Rose and orange blossom sit close to the spices, giving the entrance a floral heat that feels deliberate rather than decorative. Bergamot ties the top layer together with a clean snap that suits a morning commute or a bright office corridor.
Palisander rosewood takes over with a dry, polished grain. Patchouli leans earthy rather than dirty, and cedar brings a straight line through the heart. The woods feel stacked, like a table made of different timbers that still reads as one piece.
Sandalwood and labdanum carry the base into a warm, amber-rich finish. Vanilla softens the resin without turning it sugary, while musk adds a faint powder that lingers on fabric. The drydown is the strongest part of the composition, where the wood and the balsam finally settle into a steady rhythm.
The opening tries to do too much at once. Seven top notes crowd each other, so the first minutes smell busy rather than composed. Citrus, spice, and flower all speak at the same time, and the blend loses focus before the woods arrive to calm it down.
