Secret Ruby opens with a bright lift of bergamot that carries the soft, watery tone of lotus and the faintly bitter edge of gentiana. The citrus feels clean and immediate, while the lotus adds a smooth, airy quality that keeps the start from feeling sharp. Gentiana brings a slight herbal dryness that prevents the opening from leaning fully into sweetness, giving the first impression a balanced, transparent character.
The heart develops into a rich white floral blend where jasmine sambac and orange blossom provide a creamy, heady density. Chamomile and immortelle introduce a warm, honeyed herbal facet that sets this floral core apart from simpler compositions. The flowers do not float lightly here. They feel grounded and slightly resinous, with the immortelle adding a deep, hay-like warmth that lingers beneath the fresh petals.
Patchouli and benzoin form a smooth, amber-heavy base that wraps the florals in a balsamic, woody warmth. Labdanum adds a resinous weight that makes the drydown feel substantial without becoming heavy or dark. The sweetness stays present but is tempered by the earthy patchouli and the dry grip of the resins.
