Sadness Tears opens with pink pepper and leather, bright and dry at once. Elemi adds a resinous lift that keeps the leather from feeling heavy. The first impression is sharp and aromatic, with a clear spicy edge that feels deliberate rather than accidental.
Incense and nutmeg form the center, warm and slightly dusty. A rose sits quietly underneath, more floral than sweet, and it tempers the spices without turning them soft. Vetiver and praline anchor the dry part, where myrrh and labdanum bring a thick, balsamic sweetness that leans amber and smoky. The praline is present but not gourmand, and the leather lingers in the background as the resins deepen.
The overall feel suits a cold night and a dim room, when the air is still and the light is low. It is composed by Florian Gallo and wears like a study in resin and spice. The one drawback is the rose. It reads more synthetic than natural, and that small detail interrupts the otherwise smooth blend of wood and balsam.
