Coeur de Vahine
Fragrance notes
Character
Coeur de Vahine opens like a fruit salad left too long in the sun, all sticky blood orange and passionfruit pulp with a peach that’s gone jammy sweet. The tiare flower and orange blossom arrive quickly, creamy and heady, like a garland worn through a humid afternoon, but the jasmine and rose feel pressed flat, almost synthetic, as if they’re competing with a vanilla musk that wants nothing more than to be a cheap body butter. The whole thing is a beach towel abandoned on hot sand, still damp with sunscreen and someone else’s happiness. It’s sweet without being cloying, fresh in that artificial, cocktail-umbrella way, and decidedly mainstream in its appeal. The projection is a polite whisper, and the longevity barely survives lunch. This fragrance suits the person who wants to smell like a tropical resort without committing to anything serious. It’s a perfect five-minute vacation for a spring or summer daytime errand, but skip it if you need a scent that lasts through dinner. After an hour, you’ll be left with a faint powdery vanilla ghost and the distinct feeling you’ve already forgotten what you were wearing.
