Our take

Passionfruit and apple open Fenicio with a bright, slightly tart rush that feels like stepping into a warm room after a cool evening walk. The fruit is juicy but not loud, giving way to a heart where chocolate and pepper meet jasmine and violet. That combination sounds busy on paper, yet the flowers soften the cocoa while the spice keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. It is a gourmand that remembers it is also a perfume.

Rosendo Mateu built a base that leans into amber, sandalwood, oud, and vanilla. The wood is smooth rather than rough, and the oud stays in the background, adding a faint resinous depth instead of dominating the blend. Powder from the violet lingers through the drydown, so the later stages feel more like a warm skin scent than a dessert. It suits someone who enjoys tropical fruit but wants it wrapped in something darker.

Picture wearing this while the sky is dim and the air has a bite that makes a heavy knit necessary. The fruit and chocolate feel at home against that backdrop, and the amber glow fits a night spent in low light with good company. It reads as a composed, slightly indulgent choice rather than a playful summer spritz, and the mood it creates is far more important than any number on a label.

The one drawback is the familiar path it follows. The fruit into chocolate into amber progression is a route many other houses have taken, so the overall impression can feel like a well-executed echo of trends instead of a new voice.
