Our take

Cedre opens with a sharp crack of black pepper over Atlas cedar, but the surprise is a slick of coconut that softens the bite into something almost tropical. The heart layers Virginian cedar and sandalwood with cypriol’s smoky earth, turning the green woodiness into a powdery, almost dusty texture. As it dries, amber and tonka warm the base, while leather and white musk cling close to the skin like a well-worn jacket that refuses to leave the room. The whole thing feels like a stack of driftwood left to cure in a spice shed: dry, linear, and a little remote.

This is not a loud fragrance. With sillage hovering around 2.5 and longevity barely pushing three hours, it whispers rather than announces. The coconut note, often a crowd pleaser, stays restrained and never turns sunscreen sweet, but the powdery accent can come across as flat on some skins. It leans natural in its cedar and cypriol, yet the synthetic musk in the base keeps it grounded in designer territory. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a quiet, woody companion for a crisp autumn afternoon, not a night out or a date that demands projection. Skip it if you crave presence or a scent that lasts through a workday. For a fall walk or a cozy evening read, this is a pleasant, unassuming splinter of wood rather than a whole forest.
