Stardust Musk by De Gabor asks patience because the opening is rough. The pistachio and tobacco leaf arrive with a sharp green bite from galbanum and lime that feels abrasive for the first several minutes. It is a harsh welcome that nearly ruins the experience before it begins. The jasmine in the heart does little to soften this initial edge, sitting awkwardly beside the Italian orris root.
Tonka bean and cedar eventually smooth the texture, letting the dual layers of musk anchor the scent so it remains present through a standard work shift without ever dominating the immediate air around you. The amber and oud give a resinous weight that stays near the fabric of a shirt collar. It suits someone who enjoys powdery, sweet woods but dislikes loud entrances. The drydown is a fuzzy sweater draped over a cedar chest.
