Our take

Acqua by Missoni opens with a cheerful splash of melon and grapefruit, the citrus bright but quickly tamed by a faintly waxy narcissus. The heart settles into a bouquet of lily-of-the-valley, freesia, and peony, all the flowers blurred together like a watercolor left out in the rain. The drydown is a surprisingly creamy whisper of jasmine and Tuscan iris, smoothed into something almost powdery. The overall character is a glass of sparkling water with a single white blossom floating inside, pleasant but ultimately forgettable.

The scent feels fresh and aquatic in a deliberately clean, slightly synthetic way, very much a mainstream floral that doesn’t try to surprise you. It sits close to the skin, with sillage that barely reaches an arm’s length and longevity that fades after four hours. This is a fragrance for someone who wants to smell like freshly laundered linens on a hot afternoon, not for anyone seeking depth or drama. It works best as a daytime spritz in the dead of summer, when anything heavier would suffocate. But if you’re hoping for a fragrance that leaves a trail or lasts through dinner, you’ll be left reapplying from a travel atomizer every few hours.
