Wave opens on sea notes and Sicilian mandarin, salty and bright at once, the kind of citrus-marine pairing that smells like a beach towel more than a bottle of cologne. Lavender, clary sage and rosemary move in through the heart, herbal and slightly sharp, with Egyptian pelargonium adding a rosy, green edge alongside the herbs.
Vanilla orchid softens the base slightly, but Haitian vetiver, patchouli and oakmoss keep the finish earthy and dry rather than sweet. Christophe Raynaud composed it in 2020, and the whole thing performs almost entirely as a warm-weather fragrance, built for spring and summer specifically, with little relevance once the seasons turn.
Longevity lands at an average pace here, and a small, salty haze forms around the wearer, noticed by whoever happens to be close during the day. Wave works best outdoors, near actual water if possible, a straightforward aromatic-marine scent without much complication, better suited to a coastal walk than an office. It skips heavier amber or vanilla entirely, so the whole thing stays light and slightly abrasive from start to finish, an honest attempt at bottling salt air.
