Bitter orange and plum lead first, softened by rum that adds a dark, fermented sweetness. Saffron threads through early, giving the fruit a warm, metallic edge before davana arrives with its haylike, slightly boozy twist. Eucalyptus cuts the richness with a cool, camphor lift that keeps the opening from feeling heavy. The woods move in quickly. Cedar and guaiac wood form a dry, resinous floor beneath the oud, which here reads more smoky than medicinal. Leather sits on top of that wood stack, smooth and slightly worn, not the sharp tar of a new boot.
