Minuit et Demi opens with a pop of pimento and cardamom, a warm, almost peppery spark lifted by bergamot’s citrus shimmer. That initial brightness quickly gives way to a dense heart of caramel and coffee, sticky and dark as a late-night espresso forgotten on a marble table. The base is where the fragrance settles into its real character: a powdery, tobacco-laced vanilla cushioned by cinnamon, cashmeran, and a boozy hint of liquor. It smells like a velvet armchair in a smoke-softened lounge, the kind where you sink in and don’t move.
This is unabashedly sweet and heavy, leaning gourmand but roughened by woody vetiver and cedar. It feels slightly synthetic in its sweetness, more perfume than pantry, which keeps it from tipping into cloying.
