The amber and vanilla base holds on well, which is good because the opening citrus and pink pepper vanish almost as soon as they appear. That quick exit leaves the roses to do the heavy lifting sooner than expected, and they are not subtle flowers.
Bulgarian and Turkish rose press forward in unison, thick and slightly powdery, with Egyptian jasmine adding a white floral lift that keeps the petals from feeling flat. The pink pepper tries to cut the density, but the spice is mild and soon absorbed by the warm heart.
Madagascar vanilla wraps the florals in a soft, golden blanket, while amber gives the blend a resinous weight that stays near the body. It moves with you through a room without announcing itself loudly, content to remain a personal aura rather than a grand entrance.
