Our take

Demeter’s Yuzu Marmelade is a jar of candied citrus sitting on a sunlit porch, the kind of scent that makes you pause before you even lift the lid. The first thing you notice is the yuzu, sharp and tangy, like peeling a fresh fruit over a bowl of sugar. It does not try to be subtle. The honey comes in thick, warm and golden, and the sugar sits right beside it, turning the whole thing into a sticky, bright spread you want to dab behind your ears. There is a faint floral lift in the background, a little green edge that keeps it from feeling flat, and a whisper of vanilla that rounds out the sharpest corners without making it heavy. It smells exactly like its name, a marmalade made with yuzu and a heavy hand with the honey pot. You can almost feel the stickiness on your fingers when you smell it, a cheerful, unpretentious gourmand that does not care about being sophisticated. It is the fragrance equivalent of a lemonade stand on a warm afternoon, simple and immediately likable. The problem is that it stays very close to the skin and does not linger, fading within an hour or two and leaving you wanting another swipe.
