Our take

Tropic Story opens with a frantic splash of passionfruit and guava, all sticky pink flesh and green acidity, before litchi and kiwi rush in to sweeten the mess. There is a quick floral lift from hibiscus and osmanthus, but it blurs into a single high pitched fuzz of tropical candy. The whole thing feels like a blender full of overripe fruit that someone forgot to put the lid on. It is aggressively sweet, aggressively synthetic, and it does not care for nuance. That is not necessarily a flaw if you want to smell like a piña colada popsicle melting down your wrist on a crowded beach.

Here is where the numbers tell the real story. The longevity clocks in at 2.28, and the sillage at 2.17, which means this fragrance evaporates with the enthusiasm of a regretful one night stand. You get a vivid burst for maybe forty minutes, then a ghost of osmanthus and a faint sugary haze, then nothing. It is a perfect summer spritz for someone who craves instant gratification and does not mind reapplying from a travel atomizer every hour. If you expect a perfume to last through brunch, skip it. Wear it to a poolside afternoon, a spontaneous day trip, or any moment where you want a bright, careless slap of fruit before the heat eats it alive. The nose behind it, Delphine Lebeau, clearly aimed for disposable joy, and within its fleeting window, Tropic Story delivers exactly that.
