YOUR LOVE INSIDE ME
Fragrance notes
Character
The back porch is damp from an evening rain that just passed through. Geosmin rises from the wooden planks, mixing with the heavy heads of hyacinth and magnolia that lean over the railing. It smells like the garden after a storm, wet and alive, with a cool floral breeze that cuts through the warm air. Someone is smoking a pipe filled with Lapsang Souchong tea leaves nearby, the sharp, resinous smoke curling into a basket of ripe figs, pears, and dark plums sitting on the table.
A haze of cannabis lingers in the corner of the space, blurring the edges of the fruit and the smoke. The sweetness of the plum thickens the air, but it is grounded by the earthy, aromatic steam of the tea. The scent feels thick and textured, like walking into a room where a party is already in full swing and the atmosphere has settled into the furniture. It is a green, heavy sweetness that refuses to stay light.
Suntan lotion warms the skin of your arms as you lean against the doorframe, the amber glow of ambergris mixing with the distinct, worn smell of leather jackets draped over the chairs. The tobacco from the pipe has now mingled with the salty, animalic warmth of the lotion, creating a scent that feels like skin that has been out in the weather. It is a smell of intimacy and outdoor air, of damp earth and human warmth pressed together in a single breath.
The fig pulp sticks to your fingers while the magnolia water drips from the eaves, the leather creaking as someone shifts in the dark, the smoke from the tea and tobacco wrapping around the damp floral stems and the sweet, crushed fruit on the table, the lotion scent rising again as the air turns over
