Our take

Epicentro hits your skin like a seismic jolt of bergamot and Virginia cedar, sharp and splintery, before the green nervousness of calamus and mate softens the edges. The heart is an odd, dusty sweetness from ambrette that feels almost medicinal, like dried herbs pressed between the pages of a hymnal. Then the ground shifts. Cumin sneaks in beneath the balsam fir and vetiver, warming everything to a slightly unwashed, human intensity, while benzoin and amber smooth the shake into a resinous, powder-flecked aftermath.

This is a fragrance that smells lived in, an old wooden chapel after a thunderstorm, where incense dust, damp angelica root, and the faint sweat of devotion have settled into the grain. It feels natural but not naive, niche in its refusal to be pretty. The longevity is a steady four or five hours, the sillage a polite arm’s length, which fits its introspective mood. If you crave clean, crowd-pleasing freshness, skip this. But if you’re drawn to the raw, the slightly feral, the kind of scent that makes you sniff your own wrist unselfconsciously, Epicentro is worth the tremor. Wear it on a cool spring afternoon when you want to feel less like a perfume and more like a place.
