Character
The study door is open to the garden, and a man sits at a wide oak desk with a stack of ledgers. A breeze carries orange leaf past the window, bright and clean, and the lavender in his collar answers it with a calm, steady herbal tone. He turns a page and the air shifts. Geranium and sage rise from the paper, dry and upright, while galbanum adds a crisp green edge that feels like snapped stems on a warm afternoon. The room smells of work and open air at once. Cedar lines the shelves behind him, vetiver settles into the floorboards, and a thin ribbon of incense curls near the lamp. Moss softens the corners so the woods never turn sharp. It is a composed space, aromatic and woody, earthy without feeling heavy, fresh spicy in the way a breeze through a herb bed is spicy.
The scent fits the room, yet the orange leaf and galbanum lean so far into green that the lavender sometimes disappears behind them. The geranium and sage hold their ground, but the heart stays narrow and does not open into new facets as the cedar and vetiver take over. Incense is present only as a faint thread, never enough to change the shape. The composition stays in one clear lane from the first breath to the end. It is precise and consistent, though it offers little for anyone who hopes the lavender will lead or the incense will deepen. The palette is limited by its own discipline.
