Our take

You know exactly what you’re in for the second the cap comes off: bubble gum, banana, and a fistful of overripe grapes hit like a sugar-crusted tropical punch to the face. Miguel Matos didn’t hold back. The top is aggressively fruity and borderline synthetic in that glorious, nostalgic way that makes you think of cheap candy and gas-station perfume. Then the tuberose and ylang-ylang step in, hot and heady, wrapping the sweetness in a creamy white floral blanket that feels almost oppressive. The ambery sandalwood heart tries to calm things down, but the base notes have other plans: civet arrives like a damp, furry presence, dragging the whole affair into musky, animalic territory. Vanilla and tonka soften the landing, but vetiver keeps a gritty foot on the ground.

This is a perfume that acts like a leopard-print coat that’s been worn through a night market in the tropics, stained with melting ice cream and someone else’s perfume. It’s unapologetically loud, with sillage and longevity that refuse to whisper. The votes give it a lukewarm 3.13, which makes sense: it’s not polite, and the civet will scare off anyone who likes their florals pristine. Best worn when you want to be smelled before you’re seen, ideally in the cool of autumn or the dead of winter, when its warmth can cut through the chill without turning cloying. Skip it if you prefer clean lines or minimalist scents. This one demands you lean into the sweat, the sugar, and the jungle.
