Fragrance notes
Character
The lights are low and the air is cool. A glass sits on the table with condensation running down its side. A woman walks past and leaves a trail of bright citrus and fresh orange, touched by the soft white petals of jasmine and ylang-ylang. The opening is cheerful and loud, but it does not stay in that bright place for long. The heart of the scent shifts as the warmth of carnation and rose steps forward, backed by the dry, rooty feel of orris and a pinch of coriander. It smells like a flower shop that has been closed for the evening, where the air is thick with petals and dust.
The base moves the composition toward the shore. Seaweed and oakmoss bring a damp, earthy air that feels close to the ground, while cedar and amber hold the blend together with a golden, woody weight. It is a fragrance that carries the city and the ocean at the same time, balancing the powdery softness of the flowers against the salty grit of the water. The result is aromatic and spicy, never leaning too far into sweetness nor becoming too sharp. It feels like a garment made of heavy fabric that drapes well and carries a distinct personality wherever it goes.
This is a scent for a night when the sidewalk is wet and the streetlamps reflect in dark puddles. The air smells of rain, flowers, and ancient trees. You can almost see the red petals of the carnation floating in the dark water near the edge of a pier.
