Olibanum Della Somalia
Fragrance notes
Character
Olibanum Della Somalia presents frankincense in a direct and unadorned manner. The resin note carries a dry, slightly peppery edge that feels natural rather than polished. Amber and balsamic accords wrap around the frankincense to give it a gentle warmth, while the woody facet keeps the texture grounded. Fresh spicy and warm spicy elements run through the composition without overwhelming the central material.
The scent feels open and airy, suited to bright surroundings and clear weather. It does not lean heavy or dark, and it avoids the weight that often comes with resin-based fragrances. The spices lift the frankincense instead of burying it, so the overall impression stays clean. It wears close to the skin in a way that feels intentional rather than timid.
Massimiliano Torti composed a fragrance that stays focused on a single idea. The materials smell straightforward and unblended, with little development or surprise as the hours pass. There is no floral or citrus distraction here, which keeps the character consistent. The simplicity makes it easy to wear, but it also limits how much the scent can express.
The narrow range is the real drawback. With only one clear note and a few supporting accords, the fragrance offers little depth or movement. It smells honest and uncomplicated, yet it can feel repetitive long before the day ends.
