Oud Précieux
Fragrance notes
Character
Oud Précieux opens with a sharp, peppery bite that can feel abrasive before the rest of the composition settles. The pink pepper hits immediately alongside a bright Sicilian bergamot, creating a crisp, slightly stinging introduction that may catch those who prefer a soft entrance. It takes patience for the edges to soften.
Once the heart emerges, the fragrance shifts toward a dense white floral blend. Jasmine and tuberose provide a heavy, creamy sweetness, while frankincense adds a resinous, slightly medicinal smoke. The flowers dominate here, rich and thick, pushing the scent into a lush, opulent space where the spices feel embedded rather than separate.
In the base, Cambodian oud and sandalwood ground the flowers with a dark, woody depth. The oud carries an animalic, leathery character that sits close to the skin, supported by the smooth, milky grain of the sandalwood. The overall mood is warm and heavy, suited to dim rooms and quiet, cold air. It finishes on a powdery, amber-tinged wood.
