Cork Tree Blossom
Fragrance notes
The sun sits high over a wooden pavilion where a bowl of pink grapefruit halves rests beside a cluster of frangipani. Jasmine sambac climbs a nearby trellis, and the rough cork pillars of the structure release a dry, bark-like scent into the warm air. Gardenia and white ginger lily drift through the space, their creaminess lifted by a bright slice of ginger that tingles against the floral air. The scene feels alive with contrast, the citrus keeping the white petals from becoming too heavy while the ginger adds a clean, vertical line through the middle of the garden.
As the afternoon settles, the pavilion fills with a deeper atmosphere. Frankincense curls upward alongside the dark, resinous weight of oud, while benzoin offers a soft, vanilla-like warmth. Saffron threads a golden, slightly metallic spice through the resin, and a trace of civet gives the air a distinctly animalic edge that grounds the flowers completely. The cork from the pillars now seems to blend with the woody base, creating a space that smells of amber, white floral, citrus, floral, fresh spicy, warm spicy, animalic, oud, woody, and musky elements all at once.
