Our take

Havana Plum opens with a sharp snap of clementine that cuts through the heavy air of cognac and rum. A faint thread of absinthe adds a cool, herbal edge to the bright start, keeping the fruit from leaning too juicy. This first impression feels like a drink poured in a dim room where the glass is chilled but the spirit inside is warm.

The middle reveals the namesake plum, dark and syrupy, surrounded by tobacco and coffee. Honey and caramel add a golden stickiness, while a touch of boronia and rose brings a slightly powdery floral lift. It is a dense, gourmand heart that smells like a luxury smoking lounge where sweets are served alongside strong espresso.

Beneath it all, tonka bean and bourbon vanilla create a creamy, sweet foundation. Patchouli and sandalwood ground the blend with earthy, woody depth, and ambrette adds a soft, musky whisper. The overall texture is thick and rounded, feeling more expensive than playful, with a composition that wraps around the wearer like a heavy wool coat.

The one drawback is the sweetness. With caramel, honey, plum, and vanilla all present, the blend can feel cloying if the air is warm. It asks for a palate that enjoys sugar in its darker forms, and it may simply be too much for those who prefer dry, crisp compositions.
