Our take

Le Jardinier opens with a crisp snap of grass and the resinous bite of mastic. The green impression is immediate and sharp, leaning into an aromatic edge that feels clean rather than sweet. Honeysuckle, lily, and magnolia follow, but they do not turn the fragrance soft or powdery. The white floral accord stays fresh, carried by a light fruity lift that keeps the flowers from feeling heavy. It moves through the air with a bright, dewy clarity that suits warm weather and open spaces filled with natural light.

The drydown is where the composition reveals its true character. Nettle and galbanum take over, pushing the scent back into a deep green territory that feels slightly bitter and balsamic. The galbanum adds a distinct, almost woody resin quality that anchors the lighter florals still lingering from the heart. This base is dry and aromatic, avoiding the sugary trap that often comes with honeysuckle. It stays close to the skin in texture, feeling like a natural extension of the wearer rather than a loud statement.

Marc-Antoine Corticchiato composed a scent that prioritizes botanical realism over comfort. It is a straightforward blend of stems, leaves, and resin that suits someone who enjoys the smell of a garden after rain. Those who prefer warm amber or creamy vanilla bases will find this too sharp and herbal. It works best when the sun is out and the air is warm, capturing the feeling of walking through damp soil and tall plants.
