Our take

Bergamot and bright citruses open with a clean, sunlit energy that feels like a window thrown open in the morning. The citrus is sharp and natural, not candied, and it carries a faint bitter edge that keeps the start from leaning sweet. Jasmine and gardenia arrive quickly, softening the brightness with a creamy white floral layer that sits close to the skin. The flowers are present but restrained, never loud or heady, and they let the green facets of the blooms show through.

Patchouli and oakmoss anchor the blend with an earthy, woody depth that pulls the whole composition toward the classic chypre structure. The moss adds a dry, slightly cool texture that balances the creaminess of the gardenia, while the patchouli stays herbal rather than dirty. It smells traditional and barbershop-adjacent, polished and composed, with none of the sugary excess found in modern fresh releases.

The citrus and floral notes are well blended, though the gardenia can read a bit synthetic against the natural bergamot. The bigger issue is the oakmoss. It is so prominent that the floral heart gets pushed into the background, making the fragrance feel more like a study in moss and patchouli than a true white floral.
