Fragrance notes
The sunlight hits the stone terrace in uneven patches, warm on the pale tiles and cool where the shadow of the old wall falls across the bench. A gentle breeze moves through the space and carries the scent of gardenia, its white petals creamy and soft against the dry air. Citrus brightens the edges of the impression, a sharp lift that keeps the flowers from feeling heavy. Oakmoss sits beneath it all, earthy and grounded, lending a woody depth that makes the entire scene feel rooted in the garden rather than floating above it.
The lactonic quality of the gardenia becomes more pronounced as the moment stretches on. It is a milky softness that clings to the air, smooth and rounded, turning the white floral accord into something tactile. The mossy earthiness grows alongside it, more present now, more textured, as if the stone wall itself has begun to release its scent into the warmth of the afternoon. The freshness remains, but it is no longer the first thing noticed.
Woody notes take hold and reshape the space. The oakmoss deepens further, its green and earthy character wrapping around the fading citrus until the bright start feels like a memory rather than the main event. The gardenia is still there, but it has lost its initial sharpness and now rests in the dry, woody air like a settled thought. The fragrance feels less like a collection of notes and more like the atmosphere of the terrace itself, aged and quiet.
The stone holds the last of the sun while the moss continues to release its quiet, green scent into the cooling air, the white floral whisper now completely intertwined with the woody earth beneath the bench, lingering in the space where the light is beginning to shift
