Our take

Aldehydes fizz like cold champagne over lilac and bergamot, then the veil lifts and a dense wall of leather rises. Iris and narcissus lend a powdery, slightly waxy texture, while mimosa and ylang-ylang push the floral side toward a deep yellow glow. Rose hides inside that glow rather than leading it, letting the skin smell lived-in instead of polished.

Costus and patchouli drive the earthy feeling further into the ground, where cedarmoss and Russian leather add a dry, woody weight. Civet and castoreum bring a musky, smoky breath that stays close enough to be noticed without overwhelming the room, and the whole composition lingers through a long evening without vanishing or demanding constant reapplication. It feels untamed, a little rough, and entirely deliberate.

Miguel Matos composed this for someone who enjoys a heavy, animalic leather that does not apologize for its presence. Wear it when the sky is dark and the air carries a chill, on a night when a coat and a collar feel right and a clean, modern scent would seem out of place.
