Our take

The opening spray of '90 by Mila Schön hits with a cool, saline mist that feels like standing near a crashing tide. Bright tangerine and bergamot add a sharp citrus glare to the damp air. A pinch of nutmeg brings a dry, peppery heat that cuts through the wetness, preventing the start from feeling too chilly or thin.

Melon and peach arrive in the heart, but they are not heavy or syrupy. They feel sliced and chilled, resting beside a soft peony and jasmine bouquet. The floral side stays pale and transparent rather than heady. It creates a clean, juicy atmosphere that suits a bright patio under a clear blue sky.

Virginia cedar provides a dry, pencil-shaving woodiness in the base, anchored by a warm amber glow and a heavy layer of musk. The musk leans powdery, giving the finish a soft, slightly fuzzy texture. It keeps the fragrance feeling classic and genteel rather than modern or sharp, sitting close to the skin with a traditional elegance.

The fruit and marine notes are pleasant, but the composition feels dated in its execution. The powdery musk dominates the dry down so heavily that it loses the fresh spark it started with. It smells like an older formula trying to be contemporary, and the clash between the salty top and the dusty base never quite settles into a cohesive identity.
