Cerise Rouge opens with a dense, boozy cherry note that sits beside a sharp bitter almond. The cherry is dark and ripe, leaning toward the liqueur side of the spectrum rather than fresh fruit. Black cherry adds weight to the introduction, and the almond provides a dry edge that prevents the opening from becoming a simple sugar rush. This is a sweet start, but it carries a slight medicinal bite that keeps it from feeling flat.
The heart introduces jasmine sambac and Turkish rose over a pulpy plum and sour cherry. The jasmine brings a heavy white floral character that mingles with the fruit, while the rose adds a soft, powdery petal feel. Plum deepens the fruit accord, making it feel darker and more concentrated. The sour cherry cuts through the floral density just enough to maintain the fruit focus, ensuring the middle does not drift entirely into a standard floral arrangement.
The base is a warm, resinous mix of sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, and benzoin, supported by cedar, vetiver, and patchouli. Cloves and cinnamon add a gentle spice that lingers beneath the sweetness. Peru balsam contributes a sticky, balsamic quality that binds the woods and the vanilla together. The overall impression is a thick, nutty, and woody cherry scent that feels rich and heavily composed.
