I'm Legend
Fragrance notes
Character
I'm Legend is a fragrance for the person who wants to smell like a heavy wool coat and nothing else. It succeeds because it leans entirely on a dense oud and labdanum base that feels thick and resinous. The amber accord wraps around the wood, creating a warm, balsamic texture that sits close to the skin in a physical sense, not a temporal one. Orange blossom appears at the start, but it is quickly swallowed by the smoke and the animalic edge of the guaiac wood. This is not a bright or airy composition. It is a dark, leathery scent built for standing outside on a cold pavement under streetlights, where the warmth of the resin contrasts with the chill in the air.
The cedar and leather heart gives it a structured, almost architectural feel. It smells of polished wood and old libraries rather than fresh greenery. Julia Kupriyanova composed a scent that feels niche and unapologetically masculine in its current form. The white floral note is present only as a whisper, immediately overtaken by the warm spicy accords that define the majority of the wear. It is a scent that demands a certain gravity from the wearer, fitting a mood of quiet intensity rather than social ease.
The limitation here is the lack of movement. Once the initial blossom fades, the scent stays locked in that deep, smoky oud and incense loop without offering a change in tone. It can feel one-dimensional to those who enjoy a complex evolution throughout an evening out. The green accord is subtle to the point of being invisible, leaving the heavier notes to do all the work.
