Our take

Wild Recall opens with a sharp, resinous incense that carries the dry prick of cloves through the first minutes. The spices feel dusty rather than sweet, leaning into a churchy, meditative character that does not try to soften its edges. Sandalwood enters soon after, smooth and pale, followed by the drier grain of cedar and the heavier, slightly tarry presence of guaiac wood. The heart stays firmly in the woods, with no floral or citrus distraction to lighten the mood.

Labdanum anchors the base with a thick amber warmth, while patchouli adds an earthy, damp depth that keeps the composition grounded. Musk sits underneath to round the sharper edges without making the scent feel clean or soapy. The overall impression is balsamic and powdery, with a persistent smoky haze that lingers through the later stages. It feels suited to a dim room, a heavy sweater, and the quiet of a night out when the air turns cool.

The fragrance wears a very traditional oriental woody structure that can feel dated to someone looking for modern clarity or bright freshness. It moves in a straight line without surprises, so the experience becomes predictable after the first hour. The heavy powdery accord may also sit uncomfortably on skin that prefers crisp or green compositions.
