Leather gives Chimaera its first jolt, polished and dark, with saffron, black pepper, and a trace of lemon sharpening the opening. Soil Tincture adds an earthy hush beneath the spices, while bay leaf and thyme bring an aromatic edge that keeps the scent animated. Tolu balsam soon warms the blend, turning the early bite into something resinous and richly textured.
Honey and red pepper shape the heart with a glowing sweetness. Carnation lends a dry floral spice, and iris softens the leather with a powdery veil. The effect feels like a heavy wool coat hung beside a cedar fire, carrying traces of tobacco, warm resin, and damp earth.
Chimaera is long-lasting, with a noticeable presence that gives its wearer a clear outline in the air. Its density makes the fragrance especially well suited to winter and fall, when the amber, caramel, oud, and labdanum can unfold with full weight. Nighttime brings out its richest character, though a confident wearer could bring it into a dressed-up daytime setting with a restrained hand.
The drydown gathers caramel, benzoin, tobacco, pine tree, Canada balsam, patchouli, and cashmere wood around the leather. Sweetness stays deep and resinous, while the woods add grain and shadow.
