Our take

Sunlight falls across a stone courtyard where a brass tray holds slices of passionfruit beside a small bowl of saffron threads. The air carries the fresh cut of the fruit, bright and tart, until the spice rises and wraps around a single Turkish rose that sits open on the table. The rose does not float above the scene. It rests in the warmth, soft and slightly powdery, letting the saffron lead the way through the early part of the morning.

Wood settles in as the heat grows. Oud enters with patchouli and a heavy breath of benzoin that smells of resin and dry bark. Akigalawood pushes the scent toward something angular, while labdanum and amber add a golden weight that feels thick against the air. Vanilla smooths the edges just enough to keep the resin from turning sharp, and leather brings a dry, worked hide character that sits close to the skin and refuses to lift.

The composition leans heavily on animalic warmth, and that is where it stumbles. The leather and oud create a dense, almost sweaty impression that can feel overwhelming in an open space. There is little lift or clarity once the base takes hold, and the vanilla cannot fully tame the rawness of the resin. People who prefer clean, transparent woods will find this blend too heavy and far too unpolished for their taste.
