The courtyard is quiet after the shops close. A stone path holds the day's warmth while a cool breeze moves through the open air. Someone walks past with a scent that opens in bright bursts of passionfruit and raspberry, softened by peach, pear, and cassis. A faint trace of sand sits beneath the fruit, giving the air a dry, mineral edge that keeps the opening from feeling like a bowl of cut pieces.
Lily-of-the-valley rises next, a clean floral line that cuts through the sweetness. It does not dominate. It simply keeps the fruit from sprawling in every direction. The flower adds a crisp, green clarity that makes the surrounding air feel freshly washed and calm.
Patchouli and vanilla soon take hold, joined by heliotrope, sandalwood, and musk. The patchouli is earthy and dark, the vanilla rich and rounded. Heliotrope brings a soft, powdery almond tone that blends into the creamy sandalwood and the gentle musk. The result is a deep, fruity chypre that feels polished and composed, like a well-kept garden at night.
The fruit remains loud throughout. Passionfruit and raspberry push forward with a sharp, candied energy that never fully settles into the wood and earth below. The balance leans heavily toward sugar, and the composition can feel cluttered when the tart edges meet the heavy base all at once.
