Our take

Bon Parfumeur’s 203 is a well-behaved fruit basket that forgets to misbehave. It opens with a bright, slightly candied burst of raspberry and blackberry, the red fruits glossed with a pear’s watery sweetness and a ghost of neroli that keeps things from tipping into jam. The heart turns polite: jasmine and rose arrive sanitized, rounded out by a vague solar warmth that feels more like filtered sunshine than Hawaiian heat. That vanilla-and-white-woods base is the real anchor, soft and powdery, with ambergris adding a saltless, laundry-fresh musk. The overall character is a single, specific image: a linen blouse that’s been stored in a drawer lined with dried-berry potpourri and a vanilla sachet, pleasant but apologetically clean. If this were a dish, it’d be a fruit salad skimming the syrup. It’s natural enough to avoid synthetic screech but too safe to feel niche, hovering in a mainstream floral-fruity limbo. Best for a breezy spring brunch where you want to smell nice without making a statement, but don’t expect it to linger or project. With longevity barely cresting two and a half hours and sillage that stays close enough to hug, this is a skin scent for the polite minimalist who loves berries but finds them exhausting in loud doses. Skip it if you crave density or dirt. Wear it when you want your perfume to be an afterthought, not an entrance.
