The opening feels sharp enough to catch in the throat. Lemon and cypress arrive with a brisk, needle-like edge that can read more as a cleaning product than a personal scent if the air is too still. Clary sage tries to soften that first impression, but it cannot fully hide the clinical side of the blend.
Sunlight falls across a stone terrace where a warm breeze moves through a row of potted herbs. The basil in the heart rises clearly, green and slightly peppery, while lily-of-the-valley and violet add a cool, powdery softness that keeps the herbs from feeling too dry. A small rose note sits quietly in the background, lending a faint floral roundness to the air.
Labdanum and benzoin begin to settle against the skin as the morning wears on. Their amber warmth mixes with oakmoss and musk to create a smooth, slightly animalic base that grounds the bright top notes. The civet is present but restrained, giving the composition a traditional chypre depth without pushing it into heaviness.
