The heart becomes a little muddy, with the spices and flowers competing instead of settling into a clear shape. Iris tries to lend its refined powder, but the mix stays thick and slightly overwhelming for anyone who prefers a transparent, airy scent. The white grapefruit that opened the scene is soon lost beneath the resin and wood, leaving the beginning bright and the remainder heavy. It is a rich, woody portrait that asks for patience with its busy middle and offers little clarity once the citrus steps aside.
