Fierce
Fragrance notes
Character
Fir and lemon meet first, resin against citrus peel, like a Christmas tree standing in a bowl of orange rinds. Fierce doesn't calm down from there so much as widen: rosemary and sage bring an herbal snap to the heart, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine soften the sharper edges, and rose slips in a faint sweetness underneath.
The base is where the character settles, a woody, earthy blend of vetiver, oakmoss, sandalwood and rosewood that runs warmer than the opening promised, with musk holding the structure together. Staying power holds at an easy, unhurried pace, neither rushing off nor demanding much attention, and the sillage forms a modest bubble around the wearer instead of a wall you walk into. That makes it a fair pick for a locker room or a casual daytime outing, less suited to a quiet dinner where a lighter hand would serve better.
It works equally well waking up a plain t-shirt in the morning or adding some weight to a jacket for a night out, and that range is probably its biggest strength. Few fragrances in this price bracket manage both without feeling like a compromise in either direction.
