Our take

Juanito can feel a little thin in its heart. The clary sage and jasmine arrive clearly, but they pass through without leaving much weight behind. The opening does the heavy lifting instead. Bergamot and grapefruit lead with a bright, slightly bitter citrus that feels awake and clean, while ivy adds a cool green edge that keeps the fruit from turning sweet. It is a sharp, garden-adjacent start that moves fast.

The base settles into vetiver and cedar with a dry, earthy texture. Oakmoss brings a faintly damp, forest-floor quality that grounds the citrus without smothering it. White amber sits underneath to give the woods a gentle warmth, though it never reads as a true amber fragrance. The overall impression is crisp and aromatic, more suited to a walk under changing leaves or a breezy morning than to a heavy evening out. It wears like a tailored jacket that fits well but lacks a lining.

The heart remains the weak point. Once the sage and jasmine step aside, the middle of the wear feels a bit hollow, as if the composition forgot to fill the space between the sparkling top and the steady base. It is a fragrance that knows exactly where it begins and where it ends, even if the middle does not say much along the way.
