Rasasi’s Dhan Al Oudh Al Nokbha opens with a sharp, almost abrasive oud that’s quickly smothered in spun sugar and a strawberry so jammy it borders on the obscene. This is not a careful balancing act. The heart is a carnival riot, all sticky fruity sweetness and woody grit, with the oud playing bouncer at the candy stall. On drydown, musk and more oud settle in, but the synthetic strawberry lingers like a stubborn lip gloss stain. The overall character is a glittery plastic tiara dropped onto a slab of agarwood: cheap fun with aspirations, never quite convincing.
It feels heavy and syrupy, leaning synthetic in its fruity accord but with a real woody backbone. At 3.54, the rating is fair. Longevity is decent, but sillage is a modest three point six five, which is a mercy because too much of this would be cloying. It works best in deep winter, worn at night, when the cold can temper its sugar rush.
Skip this if you want refined oud or naturalistic fruit. It suits the person who wants to smell like a gourmand oud that doesn’t take itself seriously, maybe at a holiday party or a late dinner. Just don’t overspray.
