Vermillion Promise
Fragrance notes
Character
Vermillion Promise opens with a bright, spirited blend of rum, bergamot, yuzu, apple, and fig leaf. The rum brings a warm, slightly intoxicating lift that pairs with the crisp citrus and the green, watery snap of the fig leaf. Apple adds a clean, juicy edge that keeps the entrance from feeling heavy. This opening feels vivid and alert, moving quickly into a heart where geranium, iris, violet, orchid, freesia, lily, cloves, and jasmine gather in a soft, powdery cloud. The violet and iris lead with a gentle, cosmetic elegance, while cloves introduce a fresh, aromatic spice that keeps the florals from becoming too delicate. Jasmine and freesia add a mild, dewy sweetness that sits comfortably beside the more structured petals.
The base unfolds with truffle, opoponax, musk, honey, castoreum, benzoin, labdanum, and cashmere wood. Honey and benzoin provide a golden, resinous warmth, while truffle and castoreum lend an earthy, slightly animalic depth that grounds the sweetness. Musk and cashmere wood wrap the heavier elements in a smooth, gentle layer that stays near the skin and remains present through a long stretch of wear. The fragrance feels composed for bright surroundings, where its mix of spice, powder, and resin can breathe in natural light. It carries a polished, slightly formal air without ever turning sharp or overwhelming.
Labdanum ties the resinous and woody threads together, letting the amber and floral facets linger in a steady, comforting finish. The overall impression is warm, powdery, and lightly spiced, with a floral heart that never outshines the rich base. Violet remains a quiet constant throughout, supported by the aromatic cloves and the lasting glow of opoponax.
