No. 53 – Ultimatum
Fragrance notes
The door swings open and a small cloud of cardamom drifts from the sleeve of a wool coat. Inside the room, the air is dry and lined with wood. Sandalwood settles against the grain of the furniture, while vetiver presses into the floorboards with a clean, earthy weight. Oud moves through the space slowly, not loud but present, curling around the edges of the room like smoke that has nowhere to rush. The spice does not bite. It sits comfortably beside the wood, letting the darker notes take up most of the room.
Tonka bean begins to warm the air near the window, followed by vanilla that feels round rather than sugary. Amber adds a soft glow, pulling the scent toward something balsamic and slightly powdery. The blend feels grounded and steady, like a room that has been lived in for years. There is a quiet richness here that does not ask for attention. Each note stays close to the others, never pulling the scene in two directions at once.
The light shifts across the table as the scent continues to wrap around the space, woody and aromatic, sweet but never cloying, the vanilla and amber resting beside the earthy heart without overwhelming it.
