Néroli Intense
Fragrance notes
Character
Néroli Intense opens with a slap of tart mandarin and green tarragon, a jolt of herbaceous citrus that feels like crushing fresh leaves between your fingers. The neroli here isn’t the shy, soapy kind; it’s almost angry, pushing through with a bitter orange peel sharpness that softens just as the orange blossom unfurls. Petitgrain adds a woody, slightly metallic edge, and the pitosporum brings a green creaminess I rarely see in these compositions. Then, slowly, the beeswax rises like warm honey spreading over a comb, sticky and animalic, with patchouli dusty at the base. This is no sheer summer spritz. The musk holds everything close to skin, which explains the modest 3.27 sillage and a longevity that hovers around 3.73 out of five. You’ll get a good four hours, reapply if you want more.
The overall character is like a slice of orange peel dropped into a jar of honey left open in a sun-drenched orchard. It’s crisp and sticky, natural rather than synthetic, with an almost feral edge from the beeswax. This isn’t niche for the sake of being difficult; it’s accessible but refuses to flatten into a generic cologne. It suits someone who loves real citrus but wants a little rumple, a little warmth that clings. Skip it if you need a nuclear projector or if white flowers go sour on your skin. Wear this in spring or summer daytime, when the heat amplifies the honeyed animalic. It works for casual lunches or a lazy afternoon reading in the park. Can a fragrance feel both crisp and sticky? This one does, and that’s exactly why it works.
