Raspberry and pear arrive bright and loud, but the sweetness tips quickly into something that feels manufactured rather than picked. Mandarin orange adds a brief flash of zest before the heart pulls everything toward a dense, sugary plum and peach combination. Lily-of-the-valley and peony try to bring a floral lift, though they cannot cut through the syrup. Rose sits in the background, more a color than a scent. The green accord promised in the record barely surfaces, lost under the weight of so much sugar. You stand in a sunlit garden with a plastic bowl of gumdrops in your hand, and the air around you carries that same artificial fruitiness without ever feeling fresh.
Vanilla and tonka bean deepen the dessert effect, wrapping the fruit in a thick, powdery amber blanket. Sandalwood and cedar give a faint woody backbone, but musk and the heavy base notes push the fragrance further into a confectioner’s direction.
