Our take

Forbidden Sketch opens with pink pepper and frankincense that feel bright and resinous at once. The heart brings orris and iris alongside myrrh, praline and vanilla bean, so the powder turns sweet without becoming a candy scent. Cocoa, bourbon vetiver, patchouli and Cambodian oud form a base that is earthy, dark and quietly woody. The accord reads as iris, amber, cacao, sweet, warm spicy, powdery, soft spicy, earthy, violet and musky all at once. It suits a sunny morning walk through a city market when the air feels fresh and the light is clear. It also fits a warm evening on a balcony where the air is still and the street below is calm. The praline and vanilla bean keep the resin from feeling too dry. The cocoa adds a gentle bitterness that stops the sweetness from taking over.

The composition feels polished and modern rather than rustic or rough. It works for someone who likes powder and resin together in one clear line. The orris and iris give it a refined edge that many sweeter scents lack. The frankincense lifts the opening so it never sits flat on the skin. The myrrh deepens the middle so the transition feels smooth. The vetiver and patchouli add just enough earth to ground the gourmand side. The oud is present but never loud or medicinal. The praline can read a little synthetic next to the natural rooty iris, which breaks the illusion of a fully seamless blend.
