Our take

Angham is the kind of fragrance built for a dinner where dessert is part of the plan. Lattafa opens on ginger and mandarin, spiced and citrus-bright, with pink pepper giving it a little friction before the sweetness arrives. That opening only lasts a short stretch before lavender steps in, an unusual pairing against what follows.

Praline and cacao move in next to the lavender, and this is the heart of the whole composition, a sweet, faintly bitter chocolate note that jasmine lifts into something more floral than a plain dessert accord. The lavender keeps circling back through the sweetness, layering an aromatic, herbal note under the praline and cacao and giving the blend real depth.

Vanilla, amber and musk form the base, warm and softly powdery, and the fragrance holds a comfortable, average pace once it settles, neither rushing off nor lingering unusually long. Sillage is modest, a small cloud that follows the wearer at close range.

Fall and winter suit it best, with spring a reasonable stretch too, and it reads best worn somewhere the chocolate and spice can be appreciated up close, a dinner table more than a crowded street. The lavender running through it gives the sweetness a herbal, slightly savory edge that most straightforward gourmands skip.
