Liam belongs to the coldest stretch of the year, the kind reached for once the fig trees have gone bare and the tea starts steeping stronger. Lattafa opens it with cardamom and black tea alongside fig, a spiced, slightly dried-fruit start that reads warm rather than fresh. Iris and vetiver move in through the heart, with labdanum adding a warm, deepening edge, and the fig from the top keeps threading through as a quiet sweetness, not a citrus brightness.
The base is where Liam earns its keep. Vanilla, sandalwood, tonka and patchouli build a soft, powdery woodiness that only fully shows itself once the initial spice has faded, and it lingers for a long while, easily outlasting the opening spice. Sillage stays modest, picked up mainly by whoever ends up standing right next to you.
It reads equally well on a man or a woman, and equally well at a desk or at dinner, provided the calendar says autumn or winter. Anyone expecting it to hold up through a hot summer will be disappointed, but for the colder half of the year it is a dependable, spice-forward companion that never feels thin.
