Xcel
Fragrance notes
Character
Xcel opens with a bright citrus blend built around mandarin orange, orange, bergamot, and neroli. The fruit is immediate and clear, giving the fragrance a clean and energetic start that feels suited to a sunlit street or a morning commute. The citrus is not sharp or sour. It carries a gentle sweetness that makes the opening approachable rather than aggressive, and the neroli adds a faint floral lift that keeps the fruit from feeling heavy or one-dimensional.
The heart introduces geranium, orange blossom, and cardamom. The cardamom brings a warm and slightly peppery spice that sits comfortably beside the remaining citrus, while the geranium adds a green and slightly rosy edge. Orange blossom softens the transition toward the base, keeping the mid section smooth and aromatic. The spices here are present but measured, never overwhelming the cleaner elements that came before, and the overall impression stays balanced between fresh and warm.
The base is dense with labdanum, leather, vanilla, sandalwood, saffron, vetiver, and myrrh. This is where Xcel becomes noticeably heavier, with amber and woody tones taking over and the leather adding a dry, slightly rugged character. Vanilla and saffron provide warmth, while vetiver and sandalwood ground the composition. The blend is rich and full, but the large number of base notes creates a crowded finish where individual elements can be difficult to separate clearly.
