Our take

Le Rose N°1905 opens with a sharp raspberry note that sits beside pink pepper and cumin. The spices give the fruit a dry edge rather than a sugary one. Geranium adds a green touch that keeps the top from feeling heavy. Turkish rose enters soon after and becomes the clear center of the fragrance. It is a full, slightly dark rose that carries cinnamon through the middle. The cinnamon supports the rose without turning the scent into a gourmand. Labdanum and Siam benzoin create a thick amber base that feels warm and slightly resinous. Oud adds a woody depth that grounds the sweeter elements. Patchouli sits in the background and gives the base a damp earth quality. The overall impression is spicy and amber-heavy with a clear rose shape running through it.

The scent feels dense and rich on the skin. It leans sweet but the spices and oud keep that sweetness from becoming playful. The cumin and pink pepper give it a savory trace that some will find appealing and others may find distracting. It suits cooler weather and evening wear. Someone who enjoys rose paired with heavy resins and wood will find the composition balanced. Those who prefer light florals or clean citrus should avoid it. The blend stays close to its core idea of spicy rose and amber throughout. Dominique Ropion, Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin composed the fragrance for Taffin Fragrances in 2022. The raspberry and cinnamon remain noticeable against the oud and labdanum as the scent sits on the skin, and the rose continues to share space with the resinous base while the spices linger near the surface
